Former child star Keke Palmer is the latest victim to have their naked photos stolen and posted online without consent by hackers.
Early Friday morning, nudes purported to be the True Jackson, VP actress began to surface on platforms such as 4chan and Reddit. The pictures reportedly feature the 21-year-old taken at different location in various state of undress.
Palmer has yet to comment on the matter.
Meanwhile, alleged photos of Shameless star Emmy Rossum have also began to make their way online, though it is said that the female picture may not be the actress as her face is obstructed.
Previous victims of massive invasion of privacy include Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kirsten Dunst, Kaley Cuoco, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, AnnaLynne McCord, Amber Heard, Scarlett Johansson, and Doctor Who star Matt Smith. According to a “master list” posted on 4chan, hackers are said to be possession of NSFW material from over 100 celebrities.
Many celebrities who were hacked threatened to sue Google for profiting off the photos that were posted. The search engine since responded, releasing a statement reading, “We’ve removed tens of thousands of pictures, within hours of the requests being made, and we have closed hundreds of accounts. The Internet is used for many good things. Stealing people’s private photos is not one of them.”
Lawrence recently told Vanity Fair that the situation was “not a scandal,” but “a sex crime.”
“It is a sexual violation. It’s disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That’s why these Web sites are responsible,” she said. “Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody’s mind is to make a profit from it. It’s so beyond me. I just can’t imagine being that detached from humanity. I can’t imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside.”
