In what is sure to be every teen’s TV dream wedding come true, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody will be Mr. and Mrs., Celebuzz can confirm.
And her family can’t wait to add a new member.
“Leighton’s family is very happy for him and so happy for her,” a source told CB! “Adam seems like a really good guy and obviously she’s a wonderful daughter and sister.”
“Her family has met Adam several times,” added the source. “The news is a wonderful thing.”
The 27-year-old former Gossip Girl star, who famously dated co-star Sebastian Stan for two years before they broke up in 2010, always knew what she wanted in a guy. And clean cut Brody fits the bill.
“I’m not into bad boys. I think the term is stupid,” she told Cosmopolitan in 2009. “A guy who cheats on you or is not nice to you? What is that? Nowadays, I’m much more mature in relationships. I’ve let go of the bulls**t. I think more about the deal makers than the deal breakers. I want a guy I can look up to.”
And she knows what real love feels like.
“I haven’t been in a lot of relationships, but I’ve been in love. There’s an inexplicable chemistry. You just really, really want to, like, stare at the person,” she said.
The former O.C. star, 33, also had a high profile relationship with Rachel Bilson until they split in 2006. Five years later Brody and Meester met on the set of The Oranges and kept their romance under the radar when they started dating earlier this year.
“I’ve never fallen in love right off the bat,” the then 23-year-old Meester said in her Cosmo interview. “I get scared to say ‘I love you’ too soon because it means so much. It means you’re not seeing an end to things.”
Well, the only ending here is a happy one.
