Benedict Cumberbatch and fiancée Sophie Hunter looked glam and filled with love as they walked the red carpet together at the Moet British Independent Film Awards at Old Billingsgate Market on Sunday, December 7th. The duo made another rare appearance together since announcing their engagement in early November, via newspaper The Times.
Benedict was receiving the ‘Variety Award‘, “which recognizes an actor, director, writer or producer who has helped to shine the international spotlight on the U.K.” Sophie, meanwhile, stole the spotlight in a leather dress.
The handsome Sherlock actor, who has an extreme following of “Cumberbitches” on Tumblr and beyond, wore an all black suit – looking like the heartbreaker that he is alongside Sophie, who is an award-winning theater director.
Benedict, who was also a BIFA actor nominee for “The Imitation Game” (the movie for which he’s also garnering some loud Oscar buzz), will next be playing “Doctor Strange” in the comic book movie adaption of the same name. According to Marvel, the movie will “follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.”
Also present at the British Independent Film Awards were Keira Knightley, looking demure in an embroidered off-white dress; Dame Helen Mirren, looking flawless per usual; and a handsome Douglas Booth (amongst many more).
