The year is 1996 and a 25-year-old Jon Hamm makes an appearance on the short-lived dating show The Big Date. His hair is the perfect amount of floppy for the time and he displays all the charisma of a future Emmy winner, but for some reason, two different women pass him up.
One year later, Hamm books his first TV acting gig on Ally McBeal and the rest is history. Fortunately, thanks to the power of the internet, that dating show appearance has resurfaced, for all our viewing pleasure.
On the show, Hamm promises to treat his date to “fabulous food, fabulous conversation with a fabulous foot massage,” but it’s just not enough and two different women pick some other scrub over the future Mr. Don Draper.
Perhaps if he’d gone commando on the show, things would have ended differently…
