Get ready to LOL at Saturday Night Live like you haven’t in a long, long time. Between surprise appearances from Mike Myers and Kristen Wiig, it was a night worthy of the Christmas sendoff everyone deserved.
Right from the top of the show, North Korea was the topic of conversation. That being said, the rest of the show was pretty on point and we’ve rounded up the clips you’ll want to see before jetting off home for the holidays.
DR. EVIL’S COLD OPEN:
Just to remind us that Sony “hasn’t had a hit since the walkman,” Dr. Evil interrupted Sam Smith‘s über somber Christmas special and welcomed everyone to SNL‘s funniest episode of the season.
MONOLOGUE:
Even though we kind of feel bad this is the second time Kristen Wiig has hijacked an Amy Adams‘ monologue, it was totally worth it just for those painful looking splits.
BEST SKETCHES OF THE NIGHT:
From One Direction stopping by Girlfriend’s Talk Show to office Christmas blowouts, it was a really good night for the sketch comedy show.
WEEKEND UPDATE:
Michael Che and Colin Jost have come a long way since their first show together this season and it showed last night. It sucks to be them though, because Kim Jong Un popped in to give us a little insight into the hottest presents of the gift giving season.
…and then celebrated song writers Garth and Cat returned to the desk as unprepared as they ever have been.
WORST SKETCH OF THE NIGHT:
Sorry about it, but this sketch about Cuba’s newfound appreciation of America missed the mark just a bit.
MUSICAL GUEST:
Speaking of One Direction, the boys from across the pond delivered with their both of their no frills performances.
DIGITAL SHORT(S):
Between their perfect holiday podcast of “Serial” and a commerical for the most politically correct barbie ever made, these digital shorts are hysterical with a capital H.
