Kelly Clarkson‘s unofficial covers tour steamrolls onward.
Just days after taking a crack at Sam Smith‘s “Stay with Me,” the American Idol alum took the stage at Buffalo, N.Y., to pay homage to New York City’s newest Global Welcome Ambassador, Taylor Swift, with a gospel version of the songstress’ “Shake It Off.”
So, what does she make of the cover?
Just hours after video of the song surfaced online, Swift gushed about Clarkson’s version on her Twitter, writing:
Watching Kelly Clarkson SLAY “Shake It Off” is an excellent way to celebrate 26 HOURS TIL 1989!!!!!! #TS1989 http://t.co/StqJLKObGC

Flattered, Clarkson replied:
@taylorswift13 Love this song! Hope you like our gospel beginning ha! We had fun with it! Congrats on the new album coming out girl! — Kelly Clarkson (@kelly_clarkson) October 26, 2014
