HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The Oscars will have a new look in 2011.
Anne Hathaway and James Franco will co-host the 83rd annual Academy Awards, organizers announced Monday via Twitter.
Both stars will be hosting the gig for the first time. Their assignment comes a year after the ceremony was hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.
"James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icons – fresh, exciting and multi-talented," Oscar telecast producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer said.
Hathaway, 28, is currently co-starring alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the just released Love and Other Drugs, while Franco, 32, has earned rave reviews for his new film, 127 Hours.
The Academy Awards will air live on ABC from the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center on Feb. 27.
