LONDON — First, Elizabeth Hurley took to Twitter to address rumors she cheated on husband Arun Nayar. Now her alleged love interest is setting the record straight about his own marriage.
In a message titled "Clarification" on his blog, cricketer Shane Warne explained that his marriage to Simone Callahan has been over for some time.
"Sadly and unfortunately, Simone and I split up a while ago, our close friends and family were informed at that time," he wrote Monday. "It is a private matter so we did not make it public. We remain friends and will continue to be good parents."
His message comes a day after Hurley spoke out after News of the World claimed she's been having an affair with Warne. The British tabloid published pictures and video of the twosome kissing, and said they spent the night together last week at London's Bentley Hotel.
"Not a great day," Hurley told her Twitter followers. "For the record, my husband Arun and I separated a few months ago. Our close family & friends were aware of this."
Hurley and Nayar tied the knot in March 2007 at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire. The actress and model has an 8-year-old son, Damian, with her ex-boyfriend Stephen Bing.
Warne and Callahan have been married since September 1995. They have three children.
