HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Elizabeth Taylor has been hospitalized after suffering another medical scare.
The legendary star is being treated for congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, her rep said Friday.
It remains unclear how long Taylor will remain in the hospital.
Taylor, 78, first disclosed that she suffered from congestive heart failure back in 2004. Two years ago, she underwent a laparoscopic operation, which is considered experimental.
"It's called MitraClip," Dr. Edward Verrier, professor of cardiovascular surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle, told ABC News at the time. "It's an unproven but new technology that's being introduced as a potential [and less-invasive] alternative to open-heart surgery."
The Hollywood icon, who started her career as a teenager, has also been plagued by two serious cases of pneumonia.
Taylor has two best actress Oscar wins to her name for Butterfield 8 in 1960 and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? in 1966.
She also received a special Oscar, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, in 1993.
