HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez will have a harder time downplaying their relationship after they were caught kissing over the New Year's holiday.
The juicy photos were taken as the pair locked lips on a yacht during a getaway to St. Lucia in the Caribbean. Since their release, Gomez has received numerous death threats on Twitter from Bieber fanatics.
Bieber, 16, and Gomez, 18, have repeatedly denied dating rumors. In a recent interview with People magazine, the Wizards of Waverly Place star insisted the pair were simply good friends who happen to have a lot in common.
"People ask me, you know, if we have friends in the business, friends who aren't in the business, and I say yeah, I'm very lucky I have friends who are in it," Gomez told the mag. "We're not any different. We're very lucky, but we just like to hang out. They shouldn't be stopping us from going out to dinner and things like that."
Bieber previously played coy when Ellen DeGeneres asked about his love life and reports linking him to the Disney star.
"She's sweet, she's a sweetheart," he said of Gomez.
