James Carrington Biography

James CarringtonJames Carrington is an emerging singer, songwriter and actor from the U.K. After studying at Edinburgh University, Carrington gained an acting diploma from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He appeared in "Eastenders," "Londons Burning," "Out of Sight" and as the gentleman musician in "Regency House Party," which was a co-production between Channel 4 in the U.K. and Thirteen/PBS in the U.S.

Carrington originally formed the band Little Giants in 1999, before writing some extraordinary new material that forms his own new album and live sound. Carrington's music mixes the sound of intricate acoustic guitar, piano, oboe, violin, cello and occasionally trumpet.

After lighting up London, Carrington headed for New York, where he spent most of 2003. He was introduced to Jacquetta Wheeler (Calvin Klein, Gucci, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent) in a bar in New York. The model loved his songs so much that she agreed to be in the video for his first indepedently-released single "Only For You." Soon Carrington was playing live in front of Helena Christensen and Bridget Hall at a private party for 200 of the fashion world's most famous faces. He then subsequently starred at the Vogue Christmas Party.

Returning to London in 2004, Carrington spent some time filming as the sole musician star of a Channel 4 TV show "Regency House Party."

In May of 2005, Carrington appeared at MUSEXPO in Los Angeles. He was invited by Sat Bisla (A&R Worldwide), who co-organized the event. Carrington performed in front of some of the biggest names in the music industry, including David Massey (head of Sony), Colin Martin (head of music - Radio 2), Alex Jones-Donnelly (head of music - Radio 1), Steve Schnur (head of EA Games), Carter Armstrong (Director of Music at Warner Bros. Pictures) and Martin Talbot (editor at Music Week).

In November of 2006, Carrington's song "Ache" was featured in the hit U.S. television series "Smallville." Fans immediately began to ask about the musician behind the song and demand for Carrington quickly peaked.

Now residing in Los Angeles, Carrington is preparing to release his debut album, which will be produced by Klaus Badelt, who has rapidly become one of the biggest film composers in Hollywood over the last few years. Carrington has been compared to such luminaries as David Gray, James Taylor and Paul McCartney and his inspirational music has attracted the attention of such stars as Sheryl Crow and Coldplay, who both regard themselves as fans.
