HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The stars stepped out Friday night for the 15th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, Calif.
The Hurt Locker, a low-budget indie drama about an American bomb-disposal unit in Iraq, won best picture and best director honors for Kathryn Bigelow at the star-studded event. Other notable winners included James Cameron’s sci-fi epic Avatar, which won six times, including best action movie.
Actress Emily Blunt and her fiancé, Office star John Krasinski, were among the celebrities attending last night’s ceremony. Other attendees included Anna Kendrick, Joe and Nick Jonas, Kristen Bell, Kristin Chenoweth, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman and Zac Efron.
The Critics’ Choice Awards, organized by the 235 members of the Broadcast Film Critics Association in the United States and Canada, have established a reputation as the leading barometer of Oscar success.
