NEW YORK — Actress Uma Thurman took to the witness stand Thursday to testify in the trial of her accused stalker.
On third day of the trial, the 38-year-old star said she felt “terrified” by Jack Jordan, who is accused of hanging around her Manhattan home and showing up on the set of one of her movies.
Jordan, 37, is also accused of sending harassing e-mails to Thurman’s dad and brother.
“I was completely freaked out. It was like a nightmare. It was scary,” Thurman said upon learning Jordan had also been in contact with her family, Reuters reports.
At one point during her testimony in the Manhattan court room, Thurman was visibly shaken as she clutched a card that she had received from Jordan, in which he wrote, “My hands should be on your body at all times.”
It was shortly after receiving the card that she discovered he had also been in contact with her family.
“I felt a stone drop in my stomach,” the actress said. “The idea that this had a history made it even more terrifying.”
Charges against Jordan include misdemeanor counts of stalking and harassment. He could face up to one year in jail, if convicted.
