WASHINGTON — Actor Kal Penn was robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
According to TMZ, the 32-year-old Penn was walking down a street around 1:20 a.m. when he was approached by a man carrying a gun. The robber stole his wallet and other undisclosed items, the celebrity news site said.
The Indian-American star is best known for playing the role of Kumar in the movie Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. He also had a recurring role on the hit Fox medical series House.
Penn, who was born Kalpen Modi, currently works in the White House’s Office of Public Liaison.
