HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Alicia Silverstone says there’s still one role that she hasn’t undertaken yet that will make her extremely happy.
"I’ve been wanting to have a baby since I was 2 years old – I’m destined to be a mother," the 33-year-old actress tells People. "I can’t wait to be pregnant."
Silverstone, who will celebrate her fifth wedding anniversary with musician-husband Christopher Jarecki in June, recently got a taste of motherhood while starring in the hit Broadway play Time Stands Still.
"Wearing a pregnancy suit was so much fun," she said of her role, which originated at the Geffen Playhouse in L.A. "I loved the feeling of pretending to be pregnant and having little arms and legs and this big belly."
Standing in the way of motherhood may be her busy schedule, which includes promoting her best-selling vegan cookbook The Kind Life and several film projects. One of those upcoming movies, a comedy called Vamps, features a reunion with Clueless writer-director Amy Heckerling.
"I was a baby when we met," says Silverstone, who was 19 when Clueless came out. "It’s crazy how long ago that was. Now it’ll be great to be a grownup and work with her."
So is Silverstone sick and tired of all the attention she still receives from her breakout role of Cher?
"It’s never been a bother," she says. "I have nothing but joy when somebody says they love that movie."
