NEW YORK — A star-studded crowd gathered Tuesday night for the 2009 Angel Ball held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
The annual Ball serves as a fundraising event for Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research, which was founded in 1996 in memory of Garbrielle Rich Aouad. Gabrielle lost her long struggle with acute myelogenous leukemia at the age of 27.
Gabrielle’s dying wish was for a foundation to be created to help spare others from the suffering she endured. The organization funds basic and clinical medical research which primarily focuses on prevention, treatment and quality of life issues of leukemia, lymphoma and related cancers.
Among the couples on hand here Paula Patton and Robin Thicke, Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, and Howard and Beth Stern. Other celebs attending included model Bar Refaeli and singer-actress Jennifer Hudson.
