HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Joe Francis can put that $1 million check back in his pocket.
On Tuesday, the man behind “Girls Gone Wild” had extended an offer of $1 million to Ashley Alexandra Dupré, the call girl linked to the downfall of former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, to appear in a non-nude spread for his company’s new magazine. He also wanted the suddenly famous 22-year-old to join the “Girls Gone Wild” tour bus.
But in a swift check of the company’s archives, it was discovered that Dupré had already shed her clothes for “Girls Gone Wild” as an 18-year-old partying in Miami. Francis quickly withdrew his offer.
“It’s kind of like finding a winning lottery ticket in the cushions of your couch,” he told the Associated Press.
According to a company press release, Dupré was celebrating her 18th birthday in Miami in 2003 when she got into a fight with a friend and was thrown out of their hotel. She sought comfort in a nearby “Girls Gone Wild” bus, eventually spending a full week on the bus, where she filmed seven full-length tapes that include nudity and same-sex encounters. That footage will soon be released in a special video.
With offers coming left and right, Dupré, an aspiring musician, can probably survive the loss of her $1 million check from Francis. She has already made over $200,000 from downloads of her songs, the New York Post reported Saturday.
“She is no doubt going to do a book, Hustler publisher Larry Flynt told AP, admitting he extended his own $1 million offer to Dupré.
“There will probably be a movie,” he added. “I think she is going to have so many offers coming in that it will probably be wishful thinking just to get in the door.”
