HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — DeAnna Pappas hopes she can follow in Trista Rehn’s footsteps one day.
Like the original star of “The Bachelorette,” the 26-year-old Pappas hopes she too will find love on the ABC reality series.
In the first season of “The Bachelor,” management consultant Alex Michel chose Amanda Marsha over Rehn. But Rehn got a second chance, starring in the first “Bachelorette,” where she met her current husband Ryan Sutter.
Now it’s Pappas’ turn after being rejected by Brad Womack on the “Bachelor’s” eleventh season. Starting tonight, she will choose from her own batch of 25 suitors, many of whom are familiar with her previous tale of heartbreak.
As for what she’s looking for, the Newnan, Georgia native tells Entertainment Tonight: “Someone who is family oriented. Someone who can make me laugh.”
Asked if she still talks to Womack, Pappas told ET, “I talked to Brad a few times after the show ended, but that was it.”
“I had to move on with my life,” she continued. “And I needed him to move on as well.”
Pappas said she also spoke with Rehn shortly after ABC contacted her about returning to the show.
“She gave me some good advice,” Pappas said of the uplifting chat. “She told me to follow my heart.”
From the sound of things, Pappas could very well be on her way to mending that once broken heart.
“I am very happy with the outcome,” the real estate agent told ET.
