HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — A 911 call released Friday reveals the frantic attempt to save Brittany Murphy on the morning she died last month.
“My daughter’s passed out!” the late star’s mother, Sharon Murphy, hysterically tells the dispatcher. “We’re doing mouth to mouth. Please get here quick! Please hurry!”
The tape continues with Sharon passing along instructions from the dispatcher to Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, who is attempting to revive his wife after she was found unresponsive in the bathroom of their Hollywood Hills home.
“Brittany please come back!” Sharon desperately pleads at one point on the call.
Murphy, 32, was pronounced dead a few hours later at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, which said her death was the result of a cardiac arrest.
Officials are still awaiting the receipt of additional toxicological tests and tissue studies before determining Murphy’s official cause of death.
