HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Carrie Underwood isn't rushing to get pregnant after marrying hockey star Mike Fisher in July.
"We just want to be together and keep it as simple as possible. And I think a baby would just make things so complicated right now," the 27-year-old singer said Wednesday on the ABC special In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: All Access Nashville.
So how did the twosome manage to pull off their nuptials with such busy lives?
"It was difficult and weird to basically plan a wedding around a tour and around a hockey season, but we did it," she said.
The country star told Roberts that reality quickly settled in after their lavish wedding ceremony held at the Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga.
"As soon as we got back, he went to Canada. So it was like ... 'See ya', husband.' It was very strange," she recalled. "I really don't feel like I've lived married life yet. ... It's great. Whatever it is. Whatever this is."
But forget about Underwood complaining about the man in her life.
"He's a perfect balance of a manly man and like a best friend," she said of the Ottawa Senators star. "He's a rugged man. He chops wood and he's outdoors and all that stuff, and he plays hockey, but ... he also like loves to go shopping."
