John Mayer could be a coming to a TV near you.
The singer is closing in on a deal with CBS to host a music and variety show.
Mayer has a prior background with the network, having appeared on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” in 2006.
Chevy Chase is also headed for television.
The comic-actor has signed on for a three-episode arc on NBC’s “Chuck,” in which he’ll appear as a technology mogul who gets accused of stealing the ideas of Chuck’s father.
