According to TMZ, Brown and Rihanna have been recording a love song at a Los Angeles area studio. The celebrity Web site said the song was written before Brown’s alleged assault of Rihanna took place on Feb. 8. However, music producer Polow Da Don, who has a history with Brown, realized the potential for a powerful duet since the track has a relationship theme.

A source told TMZ that the couple was “playfully touching each other” during the late night sessions, described as “very, very emotional … the feeling in the room was pure love.”

The studio sessions come shortly after reports that the couple reconciled by spending time together at the Star Island home of music mogul Diddy.

Last Thursday, Brown, 19, was formally charged with assault and making criminal threats against Rihanna, 21. According to a detective’s affidavit, the argument began after Rihanna found a text message from another woman on Brown’s cell phone.

Brown has yet to enter a plea to the charges and his arraignment was postponed for a month, reportedly to give lawyers a chance to work out a plea deal.

If convicted, Brown faces anywhere from probation to a maximum four years and eight months in state prison, prosecutors say.
