HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Chris Evert and Greg Norman appear headed for a divorce after just 15 months of marriage.
The tennis champ and golf legend announced their split Friday in a brief statement to the Associated Press.
“We will remain friends and supportive of one another’s family,” the couple said.
Evert and Norman, both 54, were married in a sunset ceremony in the Bahamas on June 28, 2008. It was the third trip to the altar for the 18-time Grand Slam winner and second for the man known as “The Shark.”
The pair last appeared together three weeks ago at the U.S. Open tennis event in New York.
Norman will assume the role of captain at next week’s Presidents Cup in San Francisco.
