LA JOLLA, Calif. — Danica McKellar, who starred as Winnie Cooper on "The Growing Years," has grown up and tied the knot.
The 34-year-old actress married composer Mike Verta on Sunday in a sunset wedding that took place in La Jolla, Calif., her sister confirmed Wednesday to People.
"I am so thrilled that my sister Danica has met and married the love of her life," said 32-year-old Crystal McKellar, who also starred on the ABC series, which aired from 1988 to 1993. "I spoke to Danica today – they are on their honeymoon and having the time of their lives."
McKellar and Verta, 36, started dating in 2001 and became engaged last summer.
"Everything about the day was magical," maid of honor Crystal told the mag. "From celebrating with our family — the extended McKellar and Verta families, as well as our 'Wonder Years' family, Dan Lauria and Alley Mills — to watching Danica and Mike dance their first dance as husband and wife."
The bride was last seen in the 2008 Sci-Fi Channel movie "Heatstroke," in which Verta composed the score. She graduated summa cum laude from UCLA in 1988 and has since written two books, "Math Doesn't Suck" and "Kiss My Math."
