GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Danny Glover was arrested Friday during a labor union protest at a Maryland food service company’s headquarters.
Montgomery County police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks told the Associated Press that the 63-year-old actor and 11 others were issued trespassing citations after they stepped past yellow police tape at the Sodexo headquarters in Gaithersburg, Md.
The dozen arrested face a $1,000 fine or 90 days in jail.
The Service Employees International Union was protesting what it calls Sodexo’s unfair and illegal treatment of workers. Sodexo says the union was spreading misinformation.
Glover is currently starring in Death at a Funeral, which debuted Friday in theaters.
