DeAnna PappasHOLLYWOOD, Calif. — DeAnna Pappas and Jesse Csincsak have split after getting engaged in July on the season finale of ABC’s “The Bachelorette.”

Csincsak confirmed the couple’s breakup with a message posted on their Web site.

“I kind of feel like it’s our responsibility to tell you we’re not together anymore,” said the professional snowboarder.

“DeAnna broke up with me two days ago, and I just wanted to come on here and tell you guys face-to-face,” he continued. “I’m sorry — I did everything in my power to try and make this work.”

In the finale, Pappas chose Csincsak over single dad Jason Mesnick, who was preparing to propose when the Georgia native suddenly stopped him. Mesnick has since been named the next “Bachelor.”

Pappas and Csincsak had previously announced a May 9, 2009 wedding date. The Amherst, Ohio native said he’s still heartbroken over the end of the couple’s romance.

“She’s a great person, but she wasn’t willing to try anymore,” explained Csincsak. “She wanted something different. The answer I got was, ‘I love you, but I’m not in love with you.’

“That’s a lot to swallow, no matter who you are,” he added. “It’s a lot to take in.”
