Def Leppard Announces Summer Concert Tour Dates with Poison and Cheap Trick

Def LeppardHOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Def Leppard has announced plans for another summer concert tour, but this time it could be the last chance for fans to see them in a while.

The British band plans to embark on a 39-city North American tour, where they’ll be joined by special guests Poison and Cheap Trick. The concert trek will kick off on June 23 in Camden, N.J.

“I’m very pleased that we are coming back to North America,” said Def Leppard front man Joe Elliott in a statement posted on the band’s Web site. “We’re gonna be touring with some new friends and some old friends and can guarantee it will be the Rock Tour of the summer.”

“There is nothing better than an epic summer concert and this tour is a dream come true for rock ‘n’ roll fans. It will be a night of a thousand hits with three hard-charging rock bands on the road together,” added Poison front man and star of VH1’s top-rated “Rock of Love Bus” reality show Bret Michaels.

Tickets for the summer tour go on sale March 6 and Elliott says it could be the last chance to see Def Leppard for a while.

“This will be our fifth year in a row where we’ve toured the summer in the states, and I seriously do think that it’s time for us to not do it next year, because I’m a firm believer in you don’t want to do it too much — people start taking you for granted,” he told The Associated Press.

Added Elliott: “For me, next year is more of a case of gathering stock and maybe a writing a bit of music, getting prepared for another record.”
