‘Despicable Me’ Easily Tops ‘Eclipse’ to Claim Weekend Box Office Title

Despicable Me, weekend, box, office, totals, top, movies, films, pictures, picture, photos, photo, pics, pic, images, image, hot, sexy, latest, new, 2010HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Despicable Me, the first 3-D animated film from Universal Pictures, opened with an estimated $60.1 million to easily claim the weekend box office title, according to studio estimates released Sunday.

Led by the voice of Steve Carell, Despicable Me knocked off The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which slipped to second place with $33.35 million.

Predators, starring Adrien Brody and Laurence Fishburne, had a strong $25.3 million debut to finish third at the box office.

Toy Story 3 ($22 million) and The Last Airbender ($17.15 million) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, to round out the weekend top five.
