HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — It was a star-studded red carpet show at the 2011 Director’s Guild of America (DGA) Awards held Saturday night in Beverly Hills.
Among those attending the Hollywood and Highland Center event were Sofia Vergara, Natalie Portman, Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, Colin Firth, Claire Danes, Elisabeth Shue, Helen Mirren, Hugh Dancy, Jennifer Lawrence, Jim Parsons, Julia Stiles, Katey Sagal, Kevin Spacey and Melissa Leo.
Tom Hooper won the DGA’s Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for The King’s Speech at the 63rd annual event. The honor has traditionally served as a near-perfect barometer for the Academy Award for Best Director. Only six times since the DGA Award’s inception in 1948 has the winner not gone on to receive the Academy Award for Best Director.
