HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Lindsay Lohan may have brought the paparazzi when she debuted her fashion collection for Emanuel Ungaro last month in Paris, but the founder of the couture house was less than impressed.

“Lindsay Lohan’s collaboration was a disaster,” the 76-year-old designer said Monday at the Estoril Film Festival, according to the Agence French Presse. “I am furious but I can’t do anything about it.”

The fashion house has been around since 1965, but has struggled in recent years since Ungaro retired in 2005 and the brand was taken over by an American investment company.

In an effort to kick-start the brand, Lohan was brought onboard in September as an “artistic advisor” to work alongside Spanish designer Estrella Archs. Their showing at the Louvre museum, which featured super-short pink dresses and blazers worn over bare skin, was widely panned by critics.

Ungaro said it saddens him to see so many years of hard work go by the wayside.

“That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls,” he said.
