NEW YORK — New York City news anchor Ernie Anastos has coined the hottest catch phrase of the moment, although he regrets doing it.
During Wednesday’s newscast, the WNYW reporter dropped an F-bomb as he was joking with the station’s weatherman.
“It takes a tough man to make a tender forecast,” Anastos joked with weatherman Nick Gregory, before apparently flubbing the line, “Keep plucking that chicken.”
The phrase has since taken on a life of its own, thanks to a video of the F-bomb going viral on the Web.
Anastos quickly apologized on the following evening’s newscast.
“I misspoke during last night’s newscast,” he said. “I apologize for my remarks to anyone who may have been offended.”
