HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Family Ties star Brian Bonsall has been arrested in Colorado on assault charges, the Associated Press reports.
Bonsall, 28, was charged on Friday with second-degree assault after police arrested him last week in Boulder, AP said.
The former child actor is accused of repeatedly striking a friend in the head with a broken wooden stool. If convicted, Bonsall could face between two to six years in prison.
He is currently being held on $7,500 bail.
Police say the troubled star was also wanted on a warrant stemming from a previous arrest for assaulting his girlfriend. Bonsall received a two-year probation sentence for that assault, but skipped a 2007 hearing on the case.
Bonsall starred as youngest sibling Andrew “Andy” Keaton on the hit ’80s television sitcom from 1986-89.
