HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Gary Coleman has been hospitalized with a "serious medical problem," his family revealed Thursday to Utah’s KUTV-TV.
The 42-year-old actor is currently in critical condition at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. He was admitted to the Provo facility on Wednesday, the station said.
Coleman’s brother-in-law told TMZ that the former child star suffered a head injury after a fall.
In a statement, his wife, Shannon Price, and father-in-law, Dale, said: "We are asking for everyone’s prayers at this time. We hope those prayers are answered and that Gary will be able to recover and return home soon."
It is the latest health scare for Coleman, who suffered a seizure on the set of The Insider in February, one month after being hospitalized for a never disclosed reason. He also underwent heart surgery last fall and has endured at least two kidney transplants over the years.
Coleman rose to fame as Arnold Jackson on TV’s Diff’rent Strokes, which aired from 1978 to 1986.
