The “American Idol” champ has finalized an agreement with 19 Recordings and will release his debut album under the Jive Records label.

“As exciting as the last few months have been, I’m really looking forward to what is next,” the 23-year-old singer said in a statement Monday. “I’m very grateful to be working with Simon Fuller and his team at 19 Entertainment, along with Barry Weiss and Jive Records on my debut album.”

“Idol” creator and judge Simon Fuller, who is Founder & CEO of 19 Entertainment, echoed the excitement.

“Kris won the hearts of millions of Americans with his soulful voice, good looks and gracious demeanor,” said Fuller. “However it is his passion for music and love of performing that will make sure Kris stands the test of time and makes ‘American Idol’ proud.”

Allen, who won the eighth season of the Fox reality show last month, said fans can expect more of the same when his debut release drops in the fall.

“Everyone’s been asking me what it’s going to sound like,” said Allen. “It will be very similar to what you heard from me on the show — definitely in the pop/rock genre. I can’t wait to get started!”

Allen, whose victory song, “No Boundaries,” is currently 23rd on Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart, is preparing to hit the road for “American Idol’s” upcoming 50-city tour. The summer trek kicks off July 15 in Portland, Ore.
