HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Lindsay Lohan has officially hired famed attorney Robert Shapiro.
"I have agreed to represent Ms. Lohan on the condition that she complies with all of the terms of her probation, including a requirement of jail time that was imposed by Judge Marsha Revel," Shapiro said Friday in a statement, referring to the starlet’s 90-day jail sentence earlier this month.
Earlier this week, Lohan checked into Shapiro’s sober living house, Pickford Lofts, a program he started after his son Brent died of a drug overdose in 2005.
"Ms. Lohan is suffering from a disease that I am all too familiar with," said Shapiro, who was a member of O.J. Simpson’s infamous defense team when the former football star was acquitted on murder charges. "Hopefully, I can be of assistance to Ms. Lohan and Judge Revel in implementing a treatment approach recommended by medical professionals for Ms. Lohan’s long term recovery and sobriety."
