HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jesse James has checked himself into rehab in the wake of an alleged infidelity scandal that threatens his marriage to Sandra Bullock.
"Jesse checked himself into a treatment facility to deal with personal issues," his rep told People magazine Wednesday in a statement. "He realized that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage."
A source tells the mag that James checked into the undisclosed facility on March 26, and that it was "100 percent his own idea." While the rep did not specify the type of treatment facility James entered, both TMZ and Radar Online report that it’s a facility that deals with sex addiction.
James’ rehab stint comes just weeks after Michelle "Bombshell" McGee claimed she carried on an 11-month-long affair with the Monster Garage star. Three more women, including Melissa Smith and Brigitte Daguerre, have also claimed affairs with James since McGee’s allegations.
Bullock, 45, and James, 40, married in 2005 at a ranch north of Santa Barbara. The Oscar winner has reportedly left her husband and moved back to her pre-marital home in the Hollywood Hills.
