HOLLYWOOD, Calif. —There’s a new werewolf coming to town!
Joe Manganiello has landed the juicy recurring part of Sookie Stackhouse’s love interest on True Blood, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The 32-year-old actor will join the cast in season three as Alcide Herveaux, a hot and sexy alpha male werewolf.
According to the books by Charlaine Harris, in which the HBO series is based, the upcoming season of True Blood will see Eric (Alex Skarsgård) summon Alcide to help Sookie (Anna Paquin) search for vampire Bill, her main love interest.
The HBO series still needs to cast Alcide’s on-again, off-again psycho girlfriend Debbie Pelt.
Manganiello is best known for playing a bartender dating Brooke (Sophia Bush) on One Tree Hill. He also had a memorable arc as Marshall’s law school buddy on How I Met Your Mother. Other notable credits include CSI and Scrubs.
