HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — John Travolta is maintaining his low profile as he continues to grieve after his son Jett’s death.
“He is still in mourning about his son,” a source close to the 55-year-old star tells People. “This is not easy and everyone has their own process.”
Jett Travolta, 16, died tragically from a seizure disorder on Jan. 2 while the family was vacationing in the Bahamas. Since his death, the “Grease” star and his wife, actress Kelly Preston, have stayed under the radar with their 9-year-old daughter, Ella Bleu.
“He’s always there for his family but he is still healing,” the source said of the actor.
Last weekend, Travolta hopped aboard his plane and traveled alone to Tahiti. The trip was just days after what would have been Jett’s 17th birthday.
“He told the hotel manager, ‘I don’t want to see anyone. I only want to rest,’ ” a source told the mag.
in February, the Travoltas established the Jett Travolta Foundation to honor their late son.
