Justin Bieber Lands Movie Deal

The 16-year-old pop star has signed on to appear in a feature film about his life and career, Paramount Pictures, MTV Films and Bieber’s record label, Island Def Jam, revealed Tuesday.

The movie will offer a "VIP backstage pass" into Bieber’s life and feature 3-D footage from his ongoing "My World 2.0" concert tour. It will be directed by Davis Guggenheim, the Oscar-winning documentarian behind Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth.

Bieber will also produce the film, along with mentor Usher, manager Scooter Braun and Island Def Jam Music Group chairman L.A. Reid. The yet-to-be-titled movie is scheduled to hit theaters next year on Valentine’s Day weekend.

"Next Valentine’s we r coming with a major 3D Movie telling the story with an Oscar winning director and also filmin the tour at MSG in NYC!!" Bieber wrote Monday on Twitter.

He added: "This is so sick!! Gonna come out in theatres Worldwide Valentine’s 2011!!! I’m taking this thing worldwide thanks to u all!! Hyped!!"

The announcement is the latest big news for the Canadian heartthrob. He’ll soon make his acting debut on the season premiere of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In addition, Bieber is writing a memoir for HarperCollins that will be released in October.
