HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Katharine McPhee tied the knot on Saturday, marrying actor Nick Cokas.
Approximately 300 guests, including a gospel choir, were on hand as McPhee, the 23-year-old “American Idol” season five runner-up, married Cokas at Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church.
McPhee met the 42-year-old Cokas in 2005 when they performed together in the L.A. theater production of “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.” They have been dating for more than a year and became engaged in November.
“(Nick) is the love of my life,” McPhee revealed to People. “This is a once in a lifetime occasion and everything is just perfect.”
According to People, McPhee wore a strapless ivory Manuel Mota gown and Neil Lane jewels, which included diamond and platinum chandelier earrings and diamond and platinum bracelets. Cokas, meanwhile, was decked out in an Armani tuxedo.
Guests at the afternoon ceremony included fellow season five “Idol” contestants Kellie Pickler and Mandisa, as well as Rumer Willis, who is McPhee’s co-star in the upcoming Anna Faris comedy “I Know What Boys Like.”
When questioned about the couple’s 19-year age difference in the past, McPhee has always held strong.
“I love [older men],” the singer has said. “They’re just wiser, and they’re less about themselves and more about you.”
