LOS ANGELES — Kevin Costner and his wife, Christine Baumgartner, welcomed a baby boy on Thursday night, the star's publicist confirmed to The Associated Press.
Hayes Logan Costner was born in Los Angeles, weighing in at 8 pounds, 15 ounces, AP says.
Costner recently explained to AP Radio that the name Hayes comes from a "a cowboy character" in a Western movie that he plans to film soon and that it is "a great Western name."
Costner, 54, and Baumgartner, 34, were married at the actor's ranch in Aspen, Colo. on Sept. 25, 2004.
The couple's first son, Cayden, was born on May 6, 2007. Costner also has three children, Annie, Lily and Joe, from his previous marriage to Cindy Silva. He also has a son, Liam, from his relationship with Bridget Rooney, whom he dated after his divorce from Silva in 1994.
Costner, who most recently starred on the big screen in "Swing Vote," was released from the hospital in January after a medical scare led to an overnight stay,
