HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Kevin Smith is no longer “nuts” about flying Southwest Airlines.
The 39-year-old director was kicked off his flight over the weekend after he was deemed a “safety risk” because of his weight.
“I know I’m fat, but was Captain Leysath really justified in throwing me off a flight for which I was already seated?” wrote Smith in one of his many Twitter rants posted Saturday after he got the boot on an Oakland-to-Burbank, Calif. flight. “Again: I’m way fat… But I’m not THERE just yet. But if I am, why wait til my bag is up, and I’m seated WITH ARM RESTS DOWN. In front of a packed plane with a bunch of folks who’d already I.d.ed me as ‘Silent Bob.'”
“You f–ked with the wrong sedentary processed-foods eater!” he added.
Prior to his ejection, Smith posted a Twit pic which read: “Look how fat I am on your plane! Quick! Throw me off!”
Southwest was quick to apologize for the incident, but noted that the situation arose because Smith decided to fly standby and only one seat remained (he normally purchases two seats when he travels).
After he finally landing in Burbank, Smith wrote, “Don’t worry: wall of the plane was opened & I was airlifted out while Richard Simmons supervised.”
Smith’s next film, Cop Out, opens in theaters on Feb. 26.
