HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Kim Kardashian is expanding her fashion empire.
The 28-year-old reality star is developing her first fragrance in a joint venture with Lighthouse Beauty, which is also behind 50 Cent’s soon-to-launch men’s scent. According to Women’s Wear Daily, Kardashian’s new fragrance is expected to launch in spring 2010.
“Collaborating with Lighthouse Beauty was a really creative, innovative process,” Kardashian tells WWD. “What’s so different about their approach is that they have worked closely with me on all aspects of my fragrance, the bottle, the juice, and even our distribution strategy so I can develop a product that truly represents me and speaks to my fans. Because of their commitment to including me in the process, the fragrance really captures who I am.”
Kardashian first disclosed her plans for a fragrance on her official Web site in July.
“It has always been a dream of mine to start my own perfume business, since I love to mix fragrances together and come up with new and different scents!” she said.
In July, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star ventured to the Givaudan lab in New York City, where she began the process of choosing her “perfect scent.”
Said Kardashian: “This will be a long process and I will be back many times to make sure it is exactly the way I want it”
