HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Kirstie Alley is celebrating a victory in her ongoing weight loss battle.
After vowing to slim down at the start of the year, the 59-year-old star has revealed some dramatic results.
I've lost over 50 lbs...and I'm having the time of my of my life...30 more to go," Alley said Wednesday on her Twitter page.
The former Cheers star has struggled with her weight fluctuating up and down for years, a battle she chronicled on her A&E reality show The Big Life.
Prior to that, Alley served as a Jenny Craig spokeswoman for three years until 2007. The actress later admitted to putting on the 75 pounds she lost while with Jenny Craig, plus an additional 10 more. She also mocked her weight gain by starring in the 2005 Showtime series Fat Actress.
Earlier this year, Alley launched Organic Liaison, a weight loss program with the goal of "liaising" people from conventional eating habits to healthier organic ones.
"My two biggest hurdles in weight loss and maintenance are cravings and too big of an appetite," she said back in February. "I wanted my line to obliterate these hurdles. For me, it has!"
