NEW YORK — Lindsay Lohan says she has a particular sound that she is hoping to capture on her upcoming new album.
“I want it to be dance,” the 21-year-old star tells People.com. “I want it to be kind of Kylie Minogue-meets-Rihanna. I hope to tour with it and I hope to really promote it.”
Lohan, who was attending Thursday night’s photo exhibit at The Atelier in New York, says she has already completed a few tracks for the album.
“I’m recording here in New York, and in L.A.,” she said. “I’ve already done three songs. I’m doing my third song in New York actually.”
The “Mean Girls” star has endured several stints in rehab over the past year, but appears to be turning the corner. When asked if any of her new music will focus on her challenging past, Lohan says she’s “not sure yet.”
“I don’t know if I really want to,” she adds. “I think the past is the past and it should be kept there.
“It’s a new slate for me, and I want to show that in my new record.”
