HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Lindsay Lohan has confirmed that she is no longer dating girlfriend Samantha Ronson.
"We are taking a brief break so I can focus on myself," the 22-year-old actress told E! News.
The couple's breakup reportedly happened Monday following a string of events that left Lohan on the outside looking in. On Friday, Lohan was turned away when she tried to attend a party for Ronson's sister. She later posted a message on Twitter reading: "So-you win, you broke my heart. now go away. i loved you"
That was followed by the 31-year-old deejay changing the locks on her Hollywood Hills home, where Lohan had been residing for some time.
The on-again, off-again pair have been surrounding by breakup rumors ever since they began dating early last year. While it appears this latest spat could be the end, a source tells People they are still "totally communicating."
For now, Lohan is surrounding herself with friends and family to mend her broken heart.
"Is she upset? Yes. Has it been a rough week? Yes," a source close to star told the mag. "But her family's around her and she's just focusing on business right now."
The important thing is that she's taking space and time to breathe," added the source. "That's what her family is here to do – help make sure she takes care of herself."
