HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Lindsay Lohan has landed a new gig, although it’s one that won’t likely resurrect her Hollywood career.
The 23-year-old actress is joining forces with Emanuel Ungaro in a move intended to kick-start buzz around the French clothing brand.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, Lohan will work as an “artistic advisor” for Emanuel Ungaro, which is also bringing aboard Spanish designer Estrella Archs. The pair is expected to debut their first collection in Paris on Oct. 4.
“Odds are it could work,” Mounir Moufarrige, Ungaro’s chief executive officer, told WWD. “Everything we’re going to get is going to be a plus. I think the noise level around Lindsay will be very, very big.”
The couture house has been around since 1965 but has struggled in recent years after losing its founding couturier to retirement.
Lohan has experienced her own share of struggles after a few brushes with the law and some trips to rehab stalled her Hollywood career. The “Mean Girls” star said she plans to take Ungaro to a “younger place” with an edge, while pouring her heart and soul into the brand.
“When I’m involved in a project, I give my all to it,” she said. “I feel like there’s a correlation between everything I do, whether it’s pop music or film. I’ve always played a big part in what I wear, the costumes. Clothing is something that’s so expressive in so many ways. It really interests me.”
