HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Mamie Gummer is heading for the altar after getting engaged to stage actor Ben Walker.
“He proposed two days ago,” the 26-year-old actress told Us Weekly at Monday’s Whitney Museum of American Arts Gala in New York City. “He did it on one knee!”
Gummer, the daughter of Meryl Streep and sculptor hubby Don Gummer, said her family is thrilled with the news.
“My mom loves him!” she said. “We are very happy!”
Gummer and Walker, 27, started dating a year and a half ago after meeting when they performed in Dangerous Liaisons on Broadway in April 2008.
