HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Actress Mischa Barton was smoking marijuana before she was arrested by police for driving under the influence on Thursday morning, according to reports.
The former “The O.C.” star was pulled over by West Hollywood police in the early hours of Thursday when she was spotted straddling two lanes of traffic. She was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, but was also booked for possession of narcotics and driving on a suspended license.
The 21-year-old star, who scored a 0.12 on a breathalyser test, was also found to have marijuana on her person, as well as prescription drugs which were not in her name, according to TMZ.com.
Barton is currently free on $10,000 bail after being released on Thursday night.
In other news, Barton has reportedly canceled a party-hosting gig for tonight, which was scheduled to take place at the opening of the Luxor Casino’s new club CatHouse in Las Vegas.
While the club was still confirming Barton’s scheduled appearance as recently as Thursday night, the actress’ team told her she couldn’t do interviews and needed to decline.
“Mischa was being paid almost $500,000 to host the party,” one insider reveals to OK! magazine. “She hasn’t had a hit in years, so she needed the cash and the spotlight.”
