LONDON — Naomi Campbell has been charged with assaulting two police officers, stemming from an alleged rage incident at London's Heathrow Airport last month.
The 38-year-old supermodel was charged when she answered bail at a Heathrow police station, according to BBC News.
Campbell is faced six assault charges — three counts of assaulting a constable, two counts of using threatening, abusive words or behavior to the cabin crew and one count of disorderly conduct.
The assault charges carry a maximum sentence of six months in prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000.
She was ordered to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on June 20.
On April 3, Campbell was preparing to catch a flight from London to Los Angeles aboard British Airways when a dispute began over her luggage.
The incident was not the first time that Campbell's made headlines with her behavior. Over the years, she has been accused of and arrested for physically and verbally abusing several of her employees and associates, including Campbell pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless assault against her maid, Ana Scolavino, in Jan. 2007.
Campbell's lawyer, Simon Nicholls, said his client was "bitterly disappointed" to learn that she will be prosecuted in this latest incident.
"She respects that decision and she hopes this matter is dealt with expeditiously," he told the BBC.
